How long does a shoot take?

Most sessions run for 15–30 minutes, once we have found a spot and are ready to go. We keep things short and fun, especially for kids, so you don’t end up with tired smiles.

What should we wear?

Wear something comfortable! Matching outfits are optional, but we recommend avoiding sunglasses and keeping pockets clear. Neutral, earthy tones tend to photograph well.

Where do shoots take place?

We generally shoot outdoors in natural light around the ACT and the surrounding regions. We can suggest locations or you can choose a place special to your family.

Do you edit the photos?

Yes, every image is chosen and edited by the Sapling team to ensure your gallery is consistent, natural, and timeless.

We don’t Photoshop out snot, drool or food from faces. So accept the chaos as it is, or bring some wet wipes!

How do we receive our photos?

Photos are delivered as high-quality JPEG digital downloads. You’ll get a private link to access and save your images.

With your agreement, certain images may become part of our online portfolio.

We delete all other images after 90 days.

Can we add film?

Yes! You can add a roll of film shot on Grandma Ada’s vintage Ricoh for $100. Up to 24 shots are taken, though not all will be perfect. That’s the magic of film.

Can we choose the photos?

Images are chosen by the Sapling team. One of the ways we maintain affordable pricing is by streamlining our workflow -minimising the overhead typically associated with draft edits, exporting and uploading preliminary galleries, image selection, and subsequent final edits.

What if it is raining?

We don’t mind getting a bit wet if you don’t! But in the event of wet weather, we’ll get in touch with you to make a plan or reschedule.
